Abstract
Blok T Blora functions as a center for local culinary products and souvenirs while also serving as a public space for community activities. The area accommodates diverse economic and social functions, including the sale of local specialties such as coconut milk coffee, tempeh chips, corn crackers, and batik with teak leaf motifs, as well as traditional Blora cuisine. In addition, Blok T operates as a transit point for intercity buses, a temporary car trading venue on weekends, and a recreational space for children in the evening. However, the existing spatial arrangement—particularly in the southern area where angkringan stalls are located—remains inadequate. Limited public facilities, the absence of elements reflecting local identity, and insufficient vegetation contribute to reduced environmental comfort, especially during daytime activities.
This study aims to propose a redesign of the Blok T area to optimize its economic and socio-cultural potential. The research applies a design-based approach that emphasizes local identity, creative economy development for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the improvement of public space quality. The proposed design is expected to create a more representative public environment that strengthens local cultural character, enhances the attractiveness of culinary tourism and SME products, and supports community interaction. Ultimately, the redesign is intended to contribute to local economic development while reinforcing the socio-cultural vitality of the Blora community.
